On 7 October 2024, the Eni Supply Chain Day - "Energies in Transition" was held at the Gazometro Complex in Rome Ostiense, bringing together more than 10,000 entities including institutional representatives, large companies, SMEs and start-ups.
The concluding event of a series of meetings with companies from the main production sites, it was an opportunity to deepen the key role played by the supply chain in achieving the energy transition objectives.
Five priorities to strengthen the competitiveness of the supply chain
The focus of the day was the theme of competitiveness as a lever to meet global challenges.
We ask our suppliers to continue working on the elements that underpin competitiveness, which for us means working on:
The double transition, energy and digital, and the evolution of the labour market bring new challenges that require a joint commitment from companies and their value chains. This is why we confirm our commitment to support the evolution of the supply chain with new tools for competitiveness development. We will continue to adopt an inclusive and systemic approach towards suppliers, aimed at establishing transparent and constructive relationships.
During the event, in addition to deepening the Procurement strategy, the essential values for working with Eni and the business opportunities arising from the transition strategy, we illustrated the tools available to promote supply chain development:
These initiatives will be integrated by the new "Energy Supply Chain" Program, which will allow companies to receive a check-up on the state of the company with respect to the drivers of competitiveness and to develop a business plan defining the actions and tools needed to improve their competitive position.
In the second part of the day, we gave voice to suppliers who shared experiences and best practices on topics relevant to sustainable growth, such as people, innovation and internationalization.
“To meet the challenges we face, we need all the best solutions the market can offer, and we want each of our suppliers to feel that they are a key player in this journey and can seize opportunities from our strategy. We are convinced that the energy sector, which has always played a central role within the industry, can and must continue to do so. This is our challenge and we can only win it by collaborating and working as a system”.
